I started directing as a creative outlet in between acting gigs. And there is a lot of in between... I am definitely an actor centric director.
Developing projects in a workshop environment with other artists is ideal; a creatively productive and very fun way to build and work on a show.
In between productions, there is a lot of (important) messing around, dreaming, talking, workshopping, staging of readings, raising money...
Theatre is a present tense art form. Theatre is created with who and what you have right here and now.
Theatre unites resources, ignites imagination, and transforms space and time.
Here's to the global power of the Bard!
